Greenpeace
A new call to action for COP26
For COP26 Greenpeace needed a campaign that would call leaders to account and create a platform for the voices of activists with lived experience of the effects of climate emergency from all over the world.
The story
As world leaders gathered in Glasgow for COP26, Greenpeace needed to send a clear message: Talk is not enough, real action is needed, and anything less is a failure. At the same time, Covid travel restrictions and vaccine inequality meant that activists from many of the areas most impacted by the devastating effects of climate emergency were unable to attend. It was vital that the campaign not only call leaders to account, but amplify the voices of climate activists.
We created the campaign ‘Stop failing us’ which featured on Greenpeace’s iconic Rainbow Warrior ship as it took the message to COP26, as well as on protest banners, on social and on a UK wide poster campaign featuring quotes for youth strikers.
Youth climate activists Maria Reyes, from Mexico, Farzana Faruk Jhumu, from Bangladesh, Edwin Namakanga, from Uganda, and Jakapita Kandanga from Namibia, were onboard the Rainbow Warrior to deliver this powerful message to leaders at COP – "stop failing" on climate change, and include the most affected people and areas in decision making.
We partnered on: Core concept, copy writing, activation concepts
Collaborated with: Naresh Ramchandani’s team at Pentagram, Ashley Johnson, Robyn Siân Cusworth, Ailbhe Larkin, Katee Hui and Shóna Slemon.
As seen in: National and international press.
